My work at Daells Bolighus

During my graphic design apprenticeship at Daells Bolighus, I was lucky to be involved in many different areas of design, both in print and digital formats. From catalog layout and furniture styling to commercial video production and social media content, I had the chance to support the brand’s visual identity across platforms.

This page offers a small glimpse into the variety of tasks I worked on, the tools I used, and what I learned through hands-on experience. It’s been a journey that helped shape how I think and work as a designer.

When working at Daells i made...

Catalogues

One of my main responsibilities during my graphic design apprenticeship at Daells Bolighus was working on both printed and digital catalogues. Each project was carefully designed to reflect the tone and visual identity of the brand.

My focus was on creating clear, easy-to-read layouts that balanced product details with a clean and engaging look. I paid close attention to structure, alignment, and spacing while making sure the catalogues stayed consistent with the company’s values and marketing goals.

Below are four examples of catalogues I’ve worked on:

  1. Download the summer catalouge here
  2. Download the Daells DNA catalouge here
  3. Download ‘oprørs salg’ here
  4. Download sofabed (sovesofa) catalouge here

Please note
These catalogues are shared to show my ability to design, structure, and layout printed material. They are not current promotions, and some of the featured products may no longer be part of the assortment.

Social Media Content

During my time at Daells, I was also involved in creating content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. This included selecting and editing images, designing visuals, and writing text that matched the brand’s tone.

For Meta platforms, I focused on clean, product-focused graphics that were easy to understand and visually appealing. I always considered platform formats and user behavior when designing.

For TikTok, I created short videos with an emphasis on movement, clarity, and timing. I worked on the visual editing, added motion graphics when needed, and made sure the content aligned with both brand guidelines and platform trends.

In most cases, I was responsible for the full process—from visual layout to text writing and export.

Furniture Styling

I also supported the weekly photo shoots by helping with furniture styling. While I didn’t take the photos myself, I worked closely with the photographer to plan and set up scenes.

This involved selecting props and arranging furniture in ways that felt natural and inviting. My goal was always to support the product and make sure everything looked cohesive and on-brand.

Website Content

Another area I was involved in was creating and updating content for the Daells Bolighus website.

I wrote landing page content, keeping structure and tone of voice consistent. I also worked with SEO by writing keyword-optimized titles, meta descriptions, and headings.

Every page I worked on was built with a focus on usability, brand identity, and customer experience.

Commercial Video Production

As part of my apprenticeship, I also produced and edited commercial videos for both web and television.

Using After Effects and Premiere Pro, I created motion graphics and transitions that supported product launches and brand storytelling. I worked with sound, text, and visual flow to keep viewers engaged while staying true to the brand’s tone.

Every video was a new opportunity to combine creativity and structure, while communicating clearly with the audience.

My experience

Looking back, my time at Daells Bolighus gave me a strong foundation in both technical skills and creative thinking.

From catalog design and social media content to video production and web content, I had the chance to work on many different projects and platforms. I learned how to stay consistent with a brand’s visual identity, how to collaborate with others, and how to adapt my work to different needs.

Through it all, I’ve become confident using tools like InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro. More importantly, I’ve learned when and how to use them to support strong visual communication.

InDesign 100%
Photoshop 90%
illustrator 70%
After Effects 80%
Premiere Pro 70%
